CNC Size

Gentleman hello,

Starting my plan my build of the MK2 and was wondering if any of you have built your boats utalizing a 4x4 CNC? I understand  a 4x8 is recommended but I've been doing a ton of research and Realistically a 4x4 CNC is the biggest I'll be able to get my hands on. With that said, how practical is it to till the pieces? Will it throw off the accuracy of the kit? How many pieces are really more than 4x4? I appreciate any replies. Cheers!

I bought a 1200x 1200mm cnc from china, had a few teething problems but most are now sorted. I used the tiling method to do the larger pieces which worked out fine for me but it takes a bit of getting used to. I use Fusion360 so the following YouTube video explains https://youtu.be/6c7iN2NlSHA?si=9b-Ve5lSrKwqIYax

if you using some of the other software Vetric etc its much easier to do but I don’t know anything about it. For the Zip boat I’m building I only had to tile about 8 times approx and its not that big a deal and accuracy is very good for what we are doing.

hope that helps
