I use Interlux Interstain, then for sealer coats instead of using Interlux Schooner with thinner 50/50, I lay on 3 coats of penetrating epoxy for 2 reasons. I find the stain doesn't drag, it fills the grain faster,  and you only need to sand the first coat. Also there's a 24 hour cure for the first and second coat, but for the 3rd coat I only let it cure for 8 hours before putting the first coat of varnish... that way the varnish will bond with the penetrating epoxy.
