Thank you for making a course that I’ve been searching for years!

Thank you for a great course!  I found it on Facebook in the nick of time. The same day I was about to paint I got your advert on facebook. It was God sent! (Or the algorithm;)

I made a mess of the first layer of paint on my 32 foot Westsail sailboat I had to grind the mess from fall last year to this summer. What I learned from your course, resulted in a hundred times better finish this time on the second layer!!

I got such a good result, that I am starting to believe that I can get a perfect glass result with a brush, on the last, third stroke. Wich I did get in smaller areas, details this time!

Though it is obvious that a roller would be much easier, especially on the hull. But now I have started to really master the brush and I don’t have experience with the roller. Is it liable to paint the hull with a brush?

Small questions:

The 2 Part Epiphanes I’m using has a very Expensive thinner, can I use any thinner for rinsing the brushes?

Do you have good Ideas for lighting? I am having issues seeing well, painting creamy white.

Although I replied on Facebook I will post the response here so that others can see the answer:

I would personally favour a roller over a brush but if you are currently getting good results with a brush then I wouldn’t change your technique for the last coat.

Although the Epifanes thinner is expensive, I wouldn’t use anything else for mixing with the paint. Other thinners are fine for wiping down and cleaning but for paint thinning I’d stick with a good quality thinner.

For lighting I usually use a video soft box light. Position it so that you are working looking into the light bouncing off your surface and you will see every little detail 👌

Cheers
Dan
