Vcarve
Quote from Terry Andow on 29th September 2024, 3:39 pmHi, my name is Terry, I have a smartbench and vectric vcarve. As the lessons in vcarve aren’t available yet, should I do the fusion lessons or will this just confuse me?

I’ve been using Vcarve Pro for about a year and a half for doing engraving and inlay. There are a lot of online courses that Vectric provides as well as many people demonstrating specific uses of Vcarve on YouTube. Are there specific lessons you’re looking for?

Quote from Terry Andow on 29th September 2024, 8:08 pmHi Dean, I can navigate around vcarve a little. I feel it wouldn’t take much for me to get to grips with it. I’ve watched quite a few vectric vids. What I need help more with is on the design side. Can it be done in vcarve or is it better in another program and being imported? If so, what program and how can I learn that?

Hi Terry
If you can spare the time I don't think it would hurt to work through the Fusion lessons. It depends on what you are making but you may find it an interesting comparison to see the difference in the two packages.
You may also notice a re arrangement of the courses structure. I felt it had a better flow to work right through from design to tool paths and post processing in a full module on each software package rather than jump between softwares mid module. Hence the reason there is now a Fusion and a VCarve module as separate entities.
Just so you have an idea of timescale it is my intention to finish building the Fusion module this week and then start on VCarve next week.
Hope that helps. I am aiming to get the course built asap whilst still keeping things thorough but it does expand somewhat. What I originally intended to be one lesson on Fusion design ended up being 6 as I discovered more things that I felt should be included.
I hope you are all enjoying it so far!
Cheers
