This cable driven transom mount rudder assembly was designed by Michel Berryer for Miss Isle, my own build of the Rocket MkII racer. This delivers a stunning, traditional looking cable driven rudder system with mechanical quadrants along with the safety and reliability of a modern steering system. Cables run in short parallel sections between two quadrants keeping them in perfect tension and removing the risk of having steering cables running in a ring around cockpit occupants. The internal quadrant is operated by a hydraulic ram or teleflex style steering ram which in turn operates the external quadrant assembly and the rudder.
File access – Access to all files is granted through The Dry Dock, the new online resource centre for our boat building plans. Upon purchasing the plans, files can be accessed through this online portal. Up to date 3D models for construction and hardware arrangement can be assessed and measured through the online CAD viewer.
