Epifanes varnish problem

Hello, I’m trying to finish a test board before starting the varnish on my table, but I keep having this issue—it looks like there are always bubbles in the varnish.

I’m following everything exactly like in Dan’s course, but the problem is still there (see photo). Could it be my varnish, since I’m using one that has been sitting in the can for a few years?

Thank you.

The first picture was after I finished the varnish and thus one was the day after

Hi Ghislain,

To me, that looks to be as a result of dust and detritus on it, which would make sense with it getting worse as time goes on and more falls on it.

It could not only be dust from the atmosphere, but the original dust could be from the brush and/or the container, and/or your clothes.

I'm not an expert, so I could be wrong!

Regards,

Jason.

Thanks maybe that my problem I will build a place where I can control more the dust.

Yes as Jason said, definitely dust from any number of possible sources. Take a look at Module 7 Lesson 5 where I run through a setup for super clean finishing of small parts. Something similar would definitely help you but also consider particles in your varnish (so strain it first) and brush.
