High gloss smooth transparent finishing for Epoxy Laminate

Hello Dan,
Thank you for sharing your experience online.
Looking for a highly transparent, smooth, high-quality finish when applying Epifanes Clear Varnish High Gloss to epoxy laminate, what type of filter and porosity would you recommend before applying it with a brush?
Also, for a high-quality transparent finish, would you recommend a final polishing and buffing step?

Pretty much any paint filter is better than going straight out of the can, I think I typically use around 180 micron for traditional varnishes. If you can get things good right off the brush then I would avoid flatting and polishing but it is there to save you if you can't.

Thanks for your feedback.
Even though we thought we'd taken every precaution, it's always a bit of a surprise (or an unpleasant one) that can turn us into collectors of layers of varnish...
So having a plan B is invaluable.
